Introduction!

(@mattjdean88)

Alright? I'm Matt, one of Zaid's students.

Just thought I'd introduce myself quickly, I've been learning with Zaid for the past month now. I consider myself an advanced beginner - I know all the basic open chord shapes but have a pretty slender grasp on music theory and fretboard knowledge which I'm currently trying to tackle.

In terms of musical preferences I'm into loads of different stuff, from Metal to Jazz right down to Gregorian Chant Music (that last one wasn't strictly true but I reckon you could pull some pretty awesome stuff from it musically!)

Anyway, I reckon it'll be interesting to catch up with some of you. I think that bouncing ideas around and learning off of each other will really reinforce the individual learning we're doing with Zaid!

Matt

Hi Matt ... I’m Matt too

Like yourself , I’d consider myself an advanced beginner ..

I know all the open chords , so I am now learning to embellish these with sus chords and different voicings .. & started learning barre chords

I love metal and jazz but I find bands like  Megadeth and jazz solos  far to advanced to play yet

However

I seem to be having fun learning AC/DC songs as they use a lot of open chords but they seem to play these with different voicings to speed the chord changes up.

Let me know what you find learning to play useful and maybe this could help me out further 😎
