There are tons of articles on easy songs to play on guitar for beginners. But what about those of us that need quick/easy materiel in other environments?
I’ve been a supporting musician in several bands of the years, mostly commonly used as last minute dep for vocalists, as a result I’ve had to learn some pretty obscene amounts of information in short periods of time. During my journey I discovered that an insane number of songs use very similar chords G, Em, C and D.
The Chord progression G-Em-C-D is used in all sorts of music styles. You can of course transpose to other chords, like C-Am-F-G or D-Bm-G-A and so on. Another way to “transpose” a song that not fits your voice is to use a capo at any fret you like.
